Slow Cooker Season

I think it’s safe to say soup/stew/casserole season is upon us.  Chicago had one last sweltering day yesterday, but today it seems there is a touch of Fall in the air.

And that means slow cooker season. Slow Cooker Season | Life Healthfully Lived

I personally use my slow cooker all year round because who wants to turn on the oven when it’s a billion degrees in the summer?  Not I, my friend.  But I use my slow cooker wayyyy more often in the colder months because there is just something so comforting about dinner simmering away all day long.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my Instant Pot and I know that it’s amazing you can make a meal in half the time, but I still love walking into my house after a long day and smelling the stew that’s been cooking the entire day.

Plus, a slow cooker makes it feel like someone else made dinner.  Almost.

These are a few of my favorite slow cooker recipes on my blog and I’m hoping that as this new season unfolds, I’ll have a little more time to devote to coming up with brand new recipes that involve the slow cooker.  BTW, if you’re wondering about the lack of new recipes, check out my Instagram post from yesterday about life round here.

It’s a crazy ride ya’ll and I’m hanging on the best I can!
