Memorial Day Recipe Round-Up

Coming at you early and quick today.  Ok, that sounded really wrong.  Let me explain.  I’m posting a quick round-up of recipes for Memorial Day a little earlier than my regular posting time.

There.  Not so creepy now. Memorial Day Recipe Round-Up | Life Healthfully Lived

Moving on…. I don’t want to take up much of your day off because I’m off enjoying my Memorial Day too!  I just wanted to give you some delicious recipes to take to your BBQ today.  Because we all know you’re going to one.  Because what is a Memorial Day without a BBQ?  Does it even exist?

In all seriousness, though, after you figure out what to make for your BBQ, please take a moment to remember those who gave their all so we can enjoy our day off and our parades and our fireworks and our BBQs.  Sometimes we forget how incredibly lucky we are that we get to do those things.  Please don’t forget our freedom came at a price and even if you don’t have to pay it, someone else did.

Now, onto the food!

Ketchup + Mustard– You can’t have a BBQ without this classic pair.  And you can totally make your own

French Onion Dip– One of my favorite dips and turns out you can make it without any dairy!

Even Better BBQ Sauce– Another BBQ must and another condiment you can make!

Pesto Quinoa Salad– You know how I feel about pesto.  This is a quick one to whip up if you forgot to make something.

Penne Pesto Pasta with Roasted Cherry Tomatoes– Pesto is the besto.

Citrus Vegetable Pasta– A citrusy twist on the classic pasta salad.

Green Coleslaw with Chive Dressing– A fun spin on traditional coleslaw.

Marinated Portobello Steaks with Cilantro Chimichurri– If you have non-meat eaters at your BBQ they will appreciate this and even if you don’t do the mushrooms make the chimichurri.  It’s amazing on everything.

BBQ Pulled Carrot Sandwiches– I will never not love this recipe!  So simple, a little weird, a lot tasty.

Tahini BBQ Summer Vegetable Bake– I mean, the word BBQ is right in there.

Individual Cherry Basil Cobbler– Eat a whole pie by yourself and don’t feel bad!

Toffee Pecan Ice Cream– Memorial Day is a great time to get back into ice cream season.  Unless you never left it….  🙂
