Getting Ready for the 4th of July

I know that for the past few Fridays I have done a round-up post of recipes on my blog.  There are a few reasons for that.

  1. There are a ton of recipes on the blog and I think you should try them all.
  2. I don’t have a ton of new recipes in my back pocket at the moment.

Mostly it’s that second reason. Getting Ready for the 4th of July | Life Healthfully Lived Continue reading

Tahini & Banana Cream Breakfast Bars

Ever since I made these oatmeal bars back in January, they have been a part of my weekly meal prep for Adam.  It’s just much simpler to make a batch of these bars once a week than to sit there and make a bowl of oatmeal each morning.  This way, Adam can get his breakfast together fast and get out the door even faster.

Now, while I’ve made oatmeal bars every week, I haven’t made them the exact same way each time.  Because I like to experiment and because sometimes I’m not so good at checking what ingredients I have BEFORE making something and have to improvise.

This recipe is an improvised version of the original. Tahini & Banana Cream Breakfast Bars | Life Healthfully Lived Continue reading

The Hunt for a House

I’ve said it a few times over on Instagram… and at least once here, I think.  I can’t remember.  Life is kind of a blur right now.  Anyways, Adam and I are looking for our first house.  It’s exciting, stressful, scary, nervewracking, and pretty much every other emotion on the spectrum.

So it’s super awesome riding that emotional roller coaster. The Hunt for a House | Life Healthfully Lived Continue reading

All The Summer Salads

I don’t know about where you live, but over by me, it’s been a little warm.  We started the week with an excessive heat warning which was carried over from the weekend.  Pretty much I was just a giant ball of sweat.

Naked Chicken Nuggets

I don’t think I’ve met a kid that doesn’t like chicken nuggets.  Maybe they don’t like them all the time, but for the most part, chicken nuggets are the quintessential “kid food”.  Don’t believe me?  Check every kid’s menu at every restaurant everywhere.  You’ll find chicken nuggets tucked between hot dogs and macaroni and cheese.

Despite being a kid food, I know that pretty much every adult also loves chicken nuggets.  I mean, what’s not to love? Breaded and fried little bites of tender chicken you can dunk into a plethora of sauces?  YES PLEASE! Naked Chicken Nuggets | Life Healthfully Lived Continue reading
