Buy the Frozen Pizza

I’m writing this post on Monday, about one hour before I normally hit the publish button on my posts.  Why am I cutting it so close and why am I telling you about it?

Because #lifehappens.

Social media does weird things to your brain.  It can be a tool used for good or it can totally break you.  There are a lot of people out there doing a great job showing real life and not just the shiny happy things.  But there are still a TON of people on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and whatever else you kids are using these days that showcase the best parts of their life.  And that can make you feel bad.  Buy the Frozen Pizza | Life Healthfully Lived

I know the advice is if someone makes you feel bad or guilty about your life on any social media platform, unfollow them.  But truth time?  I sometimes keep following the people that make me feel bad.  Why?  Your guess is as good as mine.  I’m just keeping it honest because I think honesty is key to realizing not everyone is perfect and shiny and happy and healthy and well-dressed and perfectly coiffed at every single second of their life. Buy the Frozen Pizza | Life Healthfully Lived

This weekend was a perfect example of that for me.  Saturday was spent in Mount Prospect helping my parents clean out their garage.  It was probably a two-day task, but we pushed and made it about a one and a half day adventure.  Needless to say, I was exhausted as I crawled into bed near midnight and for pretty much all of Sunday.  Normally on Sunday, I try to get my life together so the rest of the week runs smoothly but when both you and your husband are pooped, that might not always work out.  Buy the Frozen Pizza | Life Healthfully Lived

This weekend was a series of things that did and did not happen.  And that’s fine! I’m not a bad or good person for doing or not doing something and you know what?  Everything balanced out in the end.  Example?

  • I for SURE didn’t drink enough water throughout the cleaning extravaganza, but I did make sure I ate at semi-regular intervals which is a big step for me.  I usually just push through everything and forget to eat so I can get things done.
  • I didn’t write this blog post until Monday morning, but I did get laundry and some cleaning done instead. Buy the Frozen Pizza | Life Healthfully Lived
  • I didn’t do any food prep on Sunday which is my normal time to do that, but I had planned a little ahead and did some on Friday and I’ll do a little today.
  • I didn’t move much on Sunday and spent plenty of time watching Netflix on my couch, but I did get in a little walk with Adam before dinner. Buy the Frozen Pizza | Life Healthfully Lived
  • I didn’t plan anything for dinner Sunday and while I probably could have cobbled something together with what I had in my fridge/pantry, I was too tired to think about cooking and we bought a frozen pizza at the end of our walk.

See?  Balance.  It manages to find its way if you stop freaking out about all the things you DIDN’T do and focus on what you DID do.  You’ll be surprised at how things really aren’t as bad as they seem when you see that.

So the main theme of this post?  Don’t beat yourself up so much for not being 100% perfect/healthy/happy/put-together and just buy the frozen pizza.
