4th of July Dessert Round-Up

Hey there ho there!  Why did I just say that?  Who am I anymore?  Don’t answer that.  I thought I would stop in real quick to give you some dessert ideas for 4th of July because what better way to celebrate our country than with dessert?

We just got back from North Webster yesterday where we celebrated the holiday with Adam’s stepdad’s family and later today we’re headed to Mount Prospect to have a cookout with my parents.  It’s been a busy few days but it’s also been great spending time with my family.  I’ll do a full recap on Wednesday but let’s get on to the real reason you’re here.

Roasted Green Potato Salad

I debated calling this a Roasted Green Monster Potato Salad but what makes it monstrous?  Why do we add weird descriptors like monster to our food?  Does it make us more likely to eat it?  Is it some advertising scheme that a bunch of evil genius’ came up with to take over the world through our food system? If I called it the Roasted Green Monster Potato Salad, would you be more inclined to make the recipe?

These are the important questions I ask myself as I name my recipes.  You’re welcome. Roasted Green Potato Salad | Life Healthfully Lived  Continue reading

Monday Stuff

Mmmm.  Cookies. Monday Stuff | Life Healthfully Lived Continue reading

Olive & Tomato Salad

I was going to call this Castelvetrano & Tomato Salad but I quickly realized two things.  1. I can’t spell Castelvetrano, let alone say it out loud, without Google assistance and 2. Up until about a week ago, I had no idea that Castelvetrano was a type of olive and I’m betting you didn’t either. Olive & Tomato Salad | Life Healthfully Lived Continue reading

Iced Lemon-Lime Green Tea

I think maybe the second time I met Adam’s mom, it was during the summer.  We had just gotten out of classes for summer break and I was going to spend a week with him and his mom in his hometown of Paris.  Illinois.  Not France.  Just to clear that up real quick. Iced Lemon-Lime Green Tea | Life Healthfully Lived Continue reading
