Plantain & Pepper Bake

I think I’m the worst millennial ever.  I just don’t get a lot of trends that we millennials are supposed to be all about.  I don’t follow the hip lingo and I’m def not up to date on the hottest celebs.  Ugh.  I hate that I just said celebs.

I’m also not super savvy at social media.  I know I should be because I’m a blogger, but sometimes it’s just too much and I can’t keep up.  I’ve decided to limit myself to just a few even if that means being behind the times or whatever horrible things will happen to those of us not on every single media platform. Plantain & Pepper Bake | Life Healthfully Lived Continue reading

Hazelnut Cocoa Crunch Cereal

Cereal has always been my go-to meal/snack/food.  As a kid, I could (and did) eat bowls and bowls of the stuff.  In college, cereal was always there for a quick dinner or late-night snack.  Unfortunately, most cereal out there is a not the best for you.  Sure there are a few good options, but the tend to be expensive.  And let’s face it, who wants to eat super healthy cereal when there are things like Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Reese’s Puffs out there?

So, for a long time, I’ve given up eating cereal.  I’ll have one of my granola recipes every once in a while, but they aren’t a regular occurrence.  Granola is delicious, but it isn’t the same as cereal ya know?

Then I decided to make sweet roasted chickpeas and everything changed. Hazelnut Cocoa Crunch | Life Healthfully Lived Continue reading

Quick Tikka Masala

I don’t know why I’ve never tried tikka masala before given I love the flavors and simplicity of most Indian dishes.  It also probably has to do with the fact that I always thought tikka masala had to be made with meat and it never really interested me beyond that. Quick Tikka Masala | Life Healthfully Lived Continue reading

Easy Turmeric Oil

PLEASE DON’T RUN AWAY!! THIS ISN’T PEE IN A JAR!!

I just wanted to clear that up ASAP in case you completely skimmed over the title and were about to write me hate emails for posting obscene pictures on my blog.  Not that I think any of you are particularly prone to hate emails, but if a jar of pee were to show up somewhere unexpected it would totally be acceptable to have your feathers ruffled.

So again, this is not pee and I should really stop talking about pee in the same post as food.  So Imma do that now. Turmeric Oil | Life Healthfully Lived Continue reading

A Meal Plan is the Best Plan

I’ve harped on talked about meal planning before because it really can make or break a healthy lifestyle.  Fail to plan, plan to fail and what not.  This weekend that point was really hit home for me.  I was dog-sitting Bronson and didn’t really have any plan for dinners.  You know what happens when I don’t have a plan for dinner?

Loaded nachos.  Or loaded yuca fries.  Oh, loaded yuca fries.

These meals are delicious and totally fine to have once in awhile.  Because while loaded yuca fries are a delicious revelation, you can not live on them alone.  Although I may give it a whirl…
