Today is pretty much the unofficial start of summer but it is also so much more. It’s a day to remember the men and women that sacrificed their lives so we can enjoy our freedoms. I know it’s cheesy and cliche but, freedom isn’t really free. I think we all forget that most of the time and Memorial Day is a good time to remember and be grateful to everyone who gave their all.
Because Memorial Day is also usually a day to spend time with friends and family and enjoy the start of summer, I thought I would share some of my favorite summer party recipes from my blog. I know that it’s a little last minute, but luckily most of these recipes can be made pretty quickly.
So little recap, remember the reason WHY you get a long weekend to enjoy your friends, family, the start of summer and grilling season, then actually get out and use your grill and enjoy your party.
Memorial Day BBQ Recipes
Appetizers– Both of these recipes would make tasty pre-BBQ bites
Main Meals– Burgers and grilled chicken are pretty typical BBQ fare but they don’t have to be boring!
Side Dishes– Chilled salads are always welcome on a hot day. Especially if you pair them with fresh cut watermelon.
Dessert– Popsicles. Enough said.
